Flippin's First Baptist Church
"His Last Command. . . Our First Concern"

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

The Awana club at Flippin First Baptist teaches the gospel of Christ to children from preschool through 6th grade. Awana meet each Wednesday night throughout the school year from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Throughout the program, children are rewarded for memorizing Bible verses and completing character building activities. Younger children learn through games, crafts and puppets -- wonderful learning tools for this age. As they grow, children are introduced to small group interaction and life application of the gospel. Awana offers fun, friendship and serious Christian teaching that supports the teaching children are receiving at home and at church.

Living their faith can be difficult for children, especially as they grow. Awana provides a comfortable place to learn and grow along with peers who share their faith. Awana also reaches out to unchurched youth, providing them with an enjoyable and comfortable introduction to Jesus.

The AWANA club is divided into four age graded groups:

Puggles:

Puggles teaches toddlers 4 of the most basic precepts of Christianity.

Cubbies:

Lots of fun and an introduction to God's word for preschoolers, Cubbies encourages these little ones to begin to make scripture a part of their lives through parent-child activities.

Sparks:

Friendship building and the gospel message for K-2nd graders, Sparks teaches children about Jesus through games and introduces small peer-group interaction.

T&T (Truth & Training):

Evangelism and discipleship for 3rd-6th graders, T&T leads children into a deeper relationship with God and teaches them to reach out to others through mission projects.
